Friends & Neighbors
These are a few places we consider worth visiting, from a KM&C perspective. Some are literally friends, in that we’ve actually met. For others, it’s more
like we’re in their fan club.
This page was inspired by David Gurteen (see below), who’s in the process of building a global network of organizations, publishers and individuals interested in KM, creativity and innovation. We’re
proud to be a part of it.
AOK
The Association of Knowledgework (AOK) is a virtual community of knowledge professionals. At AOK, people from every specialty reach
across geographic, professional, cultural, economic and hierarchical barriers to network, learn and grow. In the AOK Star Series, world thought leaders moderate monthly email discussions. Luminaries such as Stephen Denning, Thomas Stewart,
Leif Edvinsson, Karl-Erik Sveiby, David Snowden and Hubert Saint-Onge are among the 50+ folks who’ve held the moderator’s chair in the last five years.
Gurteen Knowledge
The Gurteen Knowledge website is a resource for the Gurteen Knowledge Community - a global learning network of over 12,000 people in 138 countries. The
community is designed for people who are committed to making a difference: people who wish to share and learn from each other and who strive to see the world differently, think differently and act differently. Membership is free, and you
get a cool newsletter, too.
Loose Wire
Loose Wire is the blog of Jakarta-based journalist Jeremy Wagstaff, a person we first met when he was doing
research for an article on KM. It’s a great resource for plain-English considerations of software trends, tools, gizmos and the social impacts of same. It’s often the first place we read about something new, and has inspired a number of
Directions articles. Buy his book!
Evident
David Weinberger is a writer, speaker, radio commentator and
blogger extraordinaire, addressing issues of technology, humanity and the interface between the two. He’s also a co-author of The Cluetrain Manifesto, which is required reading here
on Knowledge Street. You can subscribe to his blog, as well as to his now somewhat occasional newsletter, the Journal of the Hyperlinked Organization (JOHO).
